Former President Donald Trump challenged Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to develop a different strategy for his future.

During the CNN town hall in New Hampshire, Trump bragged that he was ahead of DeSantis "by a lot."

Trump said DeSantis must "relax and take it easy and think about the future because right now his future isn't looking so good."

Since being charged by the Manhattan district attorney's office, the former president has cemented a sizable lead in hypothetical polls for 2024. Additionally, he has consistently criticized DeSantis' personal history and record on public policy, attracting more GOP support.

Many find that Trump's legal troubles only strengthen his position as a presidential candidate.

Trump's PR stunts are distracting GOP voters from his real crimes. US jury found Trump guilty of sexual abuse and defamation just this week. He's also facing hundreds of legal battles, with many more to come. He's been involved in over 4,000+ legal lawsuits to date.

Meanwhile, Ron DeSantis has yet to declare his candidacy for president. He may do so this month or sometime in June after he finishes enacting laws in Florida and passing the legislature's budget.

Trump made the DeSantis remark in answer to a question from an audience member about Republicans using government force to intimidate businesses. The audience member argued that he opposed the government meddling in private enterprise and used DeSantis' ongoing conflict with Walt Disney World as an illustration.

In response to a question from the crowd, Trump insisted that the various investigations against him were meant to sway the 2024 race. He based this allegation on polling that showed him ahead of US President Joe Biden.

Trump spent most of the CNN town hall denying that Biden won the 2020 election over him.

The DeSantis-aligned super PAC Never Back Down blasted Trump because he wasn't clear about his positions on abortion and guns.

What do you think about Trump taunting DeSantis?

The GOP is not in shock, most Republicans are very familiar with Trump. Some either don't understand him and/or are Rinos but no I would say they are not shocked.
