Where Trump fails, DeSantis wants to leave his mark.

Shortly after former President Donald Trump postponed his planned event in Des Moines, Iowa, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis jumped on the opportunity to make an unexpected last-minute visit.

The Florida governor spoke at a fundraising close to the location of Trump's canceled rally.

DeSantis boasted about his results in Florida, saying that such results can be replicated across the United States.

Talk like a president, walk like a president

DeSantis has visited Iowa twice this year as he gets closer to running for president in 2024.

Within the next several weeks, the governor may officially enter the 2024 presidential race. In the meantime, he's doing everything a presidential candidate would do on a campaign trail. He's holding rallyes in key states, bolsteirng claims about transforming the United States and even publishing an autobiography showcasing his accomplishments.

Ron DeSantis is taking it a step further. He's creating additional hype with his dash of mystery, something other candidates are failing to do. Trump is all in, no questions asked.

Additionally, the DeSantis political operation is expected to relocate its headquarters to a new location in Tallahassee, opening the door for the first federal election filings for a future DeSantis campaign in 2024.

DeSantis severed ties with his state political committee, "Friends of Ron DeSantis," which has over $81 million in cash on hand. The action must be taken before a federal run, failing which the funds will be moved to a super PAC backing DeSantis' 2024 bid.

DeSantis has been visiting early presidential primary and swing states since March to spread the word about his most recent book the "Freedom Blueprint."

DeSantis was in Sioux Center, Iowa, to speak at Rep. Randy Feenstra's annual family picnic. Over 600 guests, each paid $50 to enter the event and support Feenstra, greeted him.

According to a reliable source, DeSantis met with over a dozen Iowa state lawmakers in Sioux Center for closed-door meetings before his last-minute visit.
