Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is urging the state's pension fund manager to consider taking legal action against Bud Light’s parent company in response to the company's latest stance.

This could just be another attempt to draw attention to DeSanit's led culture wars. He's standing up against Woke with his new brand of Callous capitalism.

AB InBev "breached legal duties owed to its shareholders" when collaborating with "radical social ideologies," says DeSantis.

Bud Light sales have dropped since entering into a minor partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney that sparked a conservative boycott.

DeSantis suggested that the state consider filing a "derivative lawsuit" against AB InBev.

Shareholders may bring derivative claims against directors or officials of a corporation on the company's behalf, alleging a breach of duty.

Florida's pension fund held more than 682,000 shares of AB InBev at the end of March, which were worth close to $46 million at the time.

DeSantis has previously threatened to use Florida's $235 billion in pension investments as a weapon for political conflicts with corporations that disobey his orders.

DeSantis pushed the state pension board to adopt new rules that forbade its investors from taking the environmental and social good of a company or fund into account when determining where to put Florida's retirement assets, pushing back against the so-called ESG movement.

In early 2022, he threatened to hold Twitter shareholders responsible if they didn't sell the social media company to Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

The most recent attack by DeSantis on "woke capitalism" also follows his high-profile conflict with entertainment mogul Walt Disney Company.

DeSantis is building a personal brand of callous capitalism where he's coming after corporations that dare to take any sort of a social stance.

Do you want DeSantis to invest his time in chasing up Bud Light?
