Voters who use Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies could have a big say in the 2024 U.S. presidential election for the first time in history.

This can be a complete game changer. Campaigns are already starting, and Bitcoin is a hot topic for many candidates. Florida Governor DeSantis, who is running for president as a Republican, is a big fan of these topics.

He likes the freedom, privacy, and independence it offers. He's also pledged to fight against a digital version of the U.S. dollar controlled by the central bank, showing he's all for keeping things decentralized and private. This could win him votes, especially since more and more people are getting interested in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies.

The U.S. Federal Reserve says that between 8%-11% of Americans own cryptocurrencies. This number has been growing, especially since big companies like BlackRock and Vanguard invest in crypto.

Crypto-voters could have a significant impact on elections

Some 46% of Black Americans and 44% of Hispanic Americans think cryptocurrencies are easier to use than traditional banks, according to Plaid's survey. The Fed and Pew Research Center have confirmed this, showing that more Black and Hispanic people per person are investing in crypto than White Americans. These groups could play a big part in the presidential election, especially since a candidate's views on crypto could affect their investments.

DeSantis's pro-Bitcoin views could win him votes from these groups and the crypto community. As more and more people get into crypto, politicians who support it could create more clout.

However, since taking office in January 2021, President Biden has been tough on crypto. This could turn away many young, diverse voters who don't like policies that go against innovation and financial freedoms.

DeSantis's support for Bitcoin could win him more votes in the 2024 presidential election. As more people get into crypto, crypto-friendly politicians may attract more voters.
