Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' presidential campaign has been struggling with headwinds ever since he officially announced the bid.

He has now replaced his campaign manager, marking the third staff reorganization in the past month.

As DeSantis attempts to restart his stale presidential campaign, he has fired his campaign manager Generra Peck, who managed his reelection campaign last year before taking on the same role for his presidential effort. What got DeSantis to the pinacle of politics in Florida is failing on the national level.

Peck, who will continue to work as a strategist, has been replaced by James Uthmeier, the chief of staff from DeSantis' state office.

The adjustments follow two significant staff reductions by DeSantis in recent weeks.

As the campaign struggled financially in late July, he let off nearly a third of his team.

According to reports, Uthmeier participated in Florida's scheme to transport migrants from Texas to Martha's Vineyard last year.

Uthmeier continued to work in DeSantis' government office while raising money for the governor's presidential campaign.

The arrangement was unusual, and government oversight organizations claimed it presented moral dilemmas.

Before working for DeSantis, Uthmeier served as U.S. Commerce Secretary under the Trump administration under Wilbur Ross, where his efforts to include a citizenship question in the 2020 census eventually became the subject of a congressional committee probe.

Additionally, DeSantis has hired an operative who had previously worked for a super PAC that had backed his campaign.

Former Never Back Down advisor David Polyansky will be the campaign's deputy manager.

Given his prior expertise working in Iowa's early voting system, Polyansky is expected to be a critical addition to the team.

Polyansky labored on the presidential campaigns of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker in 2016.
