FBI arrests Arkansas man for allegedly assaulting officers during Jan. 6

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The U.S. Attorney’s Office of the District of Columbia said that a Tontitown man was arrested Monday, July 1, for allegedly assaulting law enforcement during the Jan. 6 riot.

David Michael Camden, 45, is facing felony charges of offenses of assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers and civil disorder. He is also facing several misdemeanor offenses, including entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, and act of physical violence in the Capitol grounds or buildings.

Court documents state that Camden allegedly pushed a bike rack barricade into a line of U.S. Capitol Police Officers and yelled at officers.

“In response, officers successfully repelled Camden’s advance and deployed a chemical irritant in his direction to preempt further aggression,” the news release states.

Afterward, Camden is accused of deploying a fire extinguisher at the police line. The FBI received information that Camden was nicknamed the”#littlemansprayer.”

Court documents reveal that Camden climbed the media tower and waived an American far-right anti-government militia “Three Percenters” flag above the mob.

The investigation also showed Camden made several valid card purchases in cities near D.C. after Jan. 6 that were consistent with travel routes from Washington State to Washington D.C.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation said they arrested Camden in Fayetteville. He will have his first court date in the Western District of Arkansas.

The U.S. DOJ said that in the last 3 and a half years since Jan. 6, 2021, more than 1,450 people have been charged in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol, including more than 500 individuals charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement, a felony. The investigation remains ongoing.
