TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – The Spirit of Kansas car show at Lake Shawnee is cancelled, but the fun isn’t.

Shawnee County Parks and Rec (SCPR) has a day full of fun planned with the Spirit of Kansas for Independence Day, but one activity is getting the boot. A spokesman with SCPR told 27 News the car show has been cancelled, due to the chance for rain as well as car show organizers not wanting to risk harsh weather damaging the cars.

Even though the car show is cancelled, Parks and Rec say there is still lots of fun to be had for the Fourth of July.
