    Topeka locals react to shooting at Trump rally

    TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – Reaction from Saturday’s attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump is reaching all over the country, including right here in Northeast Kansas.

    27 News to people in Topeka and got their input on the deadly shooting.

    “It’s horrifying,” Topeka resident, Laura Ritz said. “Yeah, whether you’re for or against him or not, it’s not anything you should be cheering for.”

    “I expected it, and I thought something like this would probably happen, before this,” Topeka resident, Ralph Hill said. “I’m just surprised that it’s waited this close to the election.

    Saturday’s attempted assassination of the former president came two days ahead of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

    The convention is scheduled for Monday, July 15, and will last through Thursday, July 18.
