Update 10:25 a.m.: There are a total of 431 power outages affecting over 15,000 customers in northeast Kansas. The number of Evergy customers impacted in Topeka is now 2,510. Free State Electric is reporting over 250 customers without power.
Evergy is now reporting that restoration times are unavailable ‘due to storm activity’.
Update 9:06 a.m.: There are a total of 418 power outages affecting over 19,000 customers in northeast Kansas. The number of Evergy customers impacted in Topeka is now 1,976. Free State Electric is reporting over 552 customers without power.
Update 8:44 a.m.: There are a total of 357 power outages affecting over 17,000 customers in northeast Kansas. The number of Evergy customers impacted in Topeka is now 3,374. Free State Electric is reporting over 600 customers without power.
Evergy is reporting an estimated time of restoration for customers north of Topeka at 9:15 a.m.
Damage reported following severe storm in NE Kansas Update 8:17 a.m.: There are a total of 254 power outages affecting over 11,000 customers in northeast Kansas. The number of Evergy customers impacted in Topeka is now 3,100.
Update 7:55 a.m.: There are a total of 219 power outages affecting over 9,000 customers in northeast Kansas. The number of Evergy customers impacted in Topeka is now 3,304. Free State Electric is reporting over 500 customers without power.
Evergy is reporting an estimated time of restoration for customers north of Topeka at 9 a.m.
Update 7:50 a.m.: There are a total of 195 power outages affecting 7,429 customers in northeast Kansas. The number of Evergy customers impacted in Topeka has dropped to 3,170.
TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – After a bout of morning thunderstorms, thousands of customers in northeast Kansas are without power.
As of 7:30 a.m., 5,559 Evergy customers are without power after over 70 power outages. Of those who are without power, over 4,000 customers are located in or around Topeka. No immediate restoration times were provided.
NWS issues severe thunderstorm warning for NE Kansas Free State Electric is also reporting over 100 customers without power.
