TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – Less than 1,000 tickets are available to reserve for this year’s St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway!

This years St. Jude Dream Home is more than just a home, it also has many hidden Houdini features that make for more than meets the eye.

Brandi Whisler, Drippé Homes Director of Sales and Design gave 27 News a preview of all the magic that comes within the home.

“The first one is a hidden office. We trimmed out this wall, to where it looks like the other side, but when you push right here, it takes you into an entirely different space which is the study, front office for the home,” Whisler said. “So, that was just a fun thing we could do to allow you to have more of a formal entry and a door right off it.”

But the fun doesn’t end there. Even the kitchen provides a unique touch. In fact, you wouldn’t really know where anything was located if you were a guest in the Dream Home.

“One of the first things we decided to do was a panel ready refrigerator from Bosch. Bosch donates all our appliances for this home and nationally for St. Jude Dream home,” Whisler said. “Custom Woods was able  to put some really great wood panels on this fridge.”

The refrigerator isn’t the only “hidden Houdini feature” when it comes to the kitchen.

Drippé Homes also did a large pantry door that was hidden within the cabinets that opened up to an entirely different room. Whisler mentions that a lot of guests have missed that feature when touring the Dream Home.

The hidden features don’t end in the kitchen. There’s also a unique way to bring groceries in with a bypass window from the laundry room to the pantry.

“Large bags go right into the pantry so you’re not hauling them around,” Whisler said. “The other thing I love that Custom Woods did is they had this cabinet, both of them actually, be open from both sides.”

“So let’s say you have green beans or tomatoes that you just purchased, you can put the new ones right in the back so when you are in the pantry grabbing those to cook with, you are grabbing those that were first purchased rather than last purchased.”

And when it comes to ordering online, the St. Jude Dream Home makes it where you don’t have to worry about Porch Pirates.

“There is a Box Gobbler donated by MB Sentinal that allows Amazon or mail personnel to drop off your package into a safe location with a pin.” Whisler said. “That you will give in the delivery instructions. This allows for the package to be safely transferred into the interior of the home.

The winner of the home will be announced on KSNT on July 31st.
