TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – Four winning Powerball prizes won last year are set to expire soon unless the mystery winners step forward to claim their cash.

Cory Thone with the Kansas Lottery tells 27 News there is $200,000 in Powerball lottery winnings which will expire in September and October this year. This prize money stems from four separate lucky drawings, with two being drawn on the same day, that must be claimed at the Kansas Lottery’s headquarters in Topeka soon.

Lottery players have exactly one calendar year in Kansas to claim their prize winnings. If the prize remains unclaimed beyond the one year deadline, the money goes back to the lottery. Details on the four prizes, each valued at $50,000, can be found below:

    • Winning numbers: 9-14-20-23-63, Powerball 1.
      • September 6.
      • Sold in northeast Kansas.
      • Jackpot at $461 million.
    • Winning numbers: 47-54-57-60-65, Powerball 19.
      • October 7.

      • Jackpot at $1.4 billion.

      • Sold in south central Kansas and northeast Kansas.
      • Jackpot at $1.725 billion

Thone said prizes at or above $599 must be claimed at the Kansas Lottery’s headquarters in-person or through a mail-in claim. To learn more about these unclaimed winnings and other prizes through the Kansas Lottery which are still up for grabs, click here .

“Draw game prizes expire one year after the date of the drawing, so for a prize won on September 6, 2023, the winner has until close of business (5:00 pm) on that day to begin the claim process,” Thone said.

On July 10, 2024 an anonymous winner stepped forward to claim a $1 million Powerball prize which was also set to expire this year. This came within 24 hours of 27 News publishing a story on the unclaimed prize.
