TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – People and businesses around Southwest 37th Street and Burlingame Road finally have access to water, after two consecutive days without water.

As of 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, a spokeswoman with the City of Topeka told 27 News crews located the leak in the water main and are working to clamp it. Area residents and businesses lost access to water early in the afternoon on Tuesday, July 30. The water outage is caused by a water main break in the area.

This is all happening during the heatwave that the region has experienced over the past few days. KSNT 27 News spoke to some residents in the area who told us not having running water has been a big inconvenience.

KSNT 27 News also talked to an agency owner in the area who told us that it was also a big problem for not only himself and his employees, but for his customers as well.

“We have clients that come in and out and we have a team here. So no restroom, no sinks. Fortunately, we did have bottled water and then today we brought in jugs of water for the toilet, for the restroom,” Mike Denny from American Family Insurance said.
