Read & Win program brings communities together

TOPSFIELD — This summer, the Topsfield Fair is again partnering with libraries in Essex and Middlesex counties and southern New Hampshire to promote its Read & Win program. Each library sets a goal for elementary-school children in their communities, encouraging them to read library books.

Students in kindergarten through sixth grade who reach their reading goal will be rewarded with a ribbon provided by the International Association of Fairs and Exhibitions and one free admission ticket for students 8 and older. Children younger than 8 with an adult always enter for free. Plus, each child receives a coupon for a free hot dog and drink, courtesy of the Topsfield Fair.

To make their experience at the Topsfield Fair even more special, Fiesta Shows, the Seabrook, N.H.-based company that has supplied wholesome family fun in the Mid-Way and Kiddie Land at the Topsfield Fair since 1950, is also awarding each child who reaches their reading goal with two ride tickets.

“Partnering with the local libraries directly ties in with the educational programs that we run every year during the Topsfield Fair,” Topsfield Fair General Manager James O’Brien said. “I’m happy that Fiesta Shows was once again eager to participate in the Read & Win program with us. It is a testament to our 74-year partnership and shows they are as invested in the program as we are.”

Ticket prices for the 2024 Topsfield Fair, running Oct. 4-14, are $20 every day. Discounted admission tickets are available at www.topsfieldfair.org through Oct. 3. General-admission discount tickets can be purchased for only $15 plus a $2.50 convenience fee. Tickets are good any day during the fair’s 11-day run. A three-day pass, good any three days, is available for $42 plus a $4.26 convenience fee. Children younger than 8 years old are free with an adult admission ticket. Discounted ride tickets are also available when purchased in advance at www.topsfieldfair.org .
