Stephen Curry Shines In Gold Medal Game

Golden State Warriors Point Guard Stephen Curry had a game for the ages tonight in Paris, France as Team USA defeated Team France 98-87 to win the Gold Medal in Men's Basketball. He scored a team-high 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting from downtown. With the game hanging in the balance inside Bercy Arena, Stephen Curry came alive and showed once again why he is an all-time great. This is Team USA's fifth straight Olympic Gold Medal.

Curry scored 12 points in the fourth quarter including a vintage step back one-legged three to officially seal the Gold Medal for Team USA. This made shot led to Curry's vintage "night night" celebration and the Team USA bench exploding in jubilation. After struggling in the first four games of the Olympics, Curry came alive when his team needed him most. Stephen Curry scored 36 points in the semifinal game against Team Serbia including 17 first quarter points. Without these last two games by Curry, Team USA would not be leaving Paris with a Gold Medal around their necks. Where will this achievement rank in the career of Stephen Curry?

Stephen Curry was not shy entering the 2024 Paris Olympics that he came to France with one goal in mind. That goal was to bring gold back to the United States. Curry's legacy as one of the best players in the history of the sport has been cemented for years, but a gold medal only adds to his standing as a giant in the game of basketball. He is a four-time NBA champion, two-time NBA MVP, and now an Olympic Gold Medalist.

Curry, James, and Durant played by far the most minutes of any players on the roster tonight.

This year's team was discussed as the most talented team the United States has ever sent to the Olympics. Many individuals even believed this roster was more talented than the "Dream Team" who won gold at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain.
