This week, Birds of a Feather debuts at Number One on both Billboard’s global charts. The song rises from second to first place on both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global 200 Excl. U.S. at the same time. For more than five years, Billie Eilish has been a worldwide star. Her songs have soared to become some of the biggest hits of the past few years, and she’s famous all over the world for them.

Billie Eilish’s Birds of a Feather Tops Billboard Global Charts

Eilish's Birds of a Feather is her first number-one single on both the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts, demonstrating its global popularity. The song also topped the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and Hot Alternative Songs charts in the U.S., proving its popularity across multiple genres. Eilish has won several major international titles throughout her career, but she's never topped these rankings.

Before this week, Eilish had two tracks reach No. 2 on both lists, though the songs that reached that position differed between the lists. On the Billboard Global 200, both Therefore I Am and What Was I Made For? came one spot short of reaching number one.

Therefore I Am peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Global 200 Excl. U.S., as did the first single from Eilish's most recent album, Hit Me Hard and Soft. Lunch stalled in the runner-up spot on the list, which ranks the most popular songs worldwide, excluding any data from America.

Top Rating for Birds of a Feather

Birds of a Feather topped the Global 200 with 78.8 million streams (up 2%) and 7,000 sales (up 11%) worldwide from August 2 to 8. Previously, Eilish's songs What Was I Made For? in August 2023 and Therefore I Am in November 2020 got as high as No. 2 on the charts.

Also, Charli xCX and Eilish's song Guess starts at No. 3 on the Global 200, with 60.3 million streams and 9,000 sales around the world. After the remix with Eilish came out on August 1, the song's metrics went up by 999% and 848%. It was first released on June 10 on Charli xCX's deluxe version of her album Brat, which came out on June 7. Xcx gets her first top-ten finish since the Global 200 began, and Eilish gets her eighth.

Birds of a Feather goes up 2-1 on Global Excl. U.S. from August 2 to 8 thanks to 57.3 million streams (up 3%) and 3,000 sales (up 18%) outside of the U.S. Eilish achieved a No. 2 peak with Lunch in June 2024 and Therefore I Am in 2020. Lunch and Birds of a Feather are both from her most recent album, Hit Me Hard and Soft.

Guess by Charli xcx and Eilish debuts at No. 5 on Global Excl. U.S. with 40.1 million streams and 4,000 sales around the world. Charli xcx gets her first Top Ten hit in the world outside of the U.S., and Eilish gets her eighth. Jimin's Who falls to No. 2 after staying at No. 1 the first two weeks, Carpenter's Espresso stays at No. 3 after eight weeks at No. 1 starting in May, and Karol G's Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido remains at No. 4. All of these songs were big hits in their own right, but Eilish's took the top five spot.

    Billie Eilish and Her Brother

Billie Eilish's real name is Billie Eilish O'Connell. She was born on December 18, 2001. The song Ocean Eyes, which she wrote when she was a young teen, went viral on SoundCloud in 2015. Her first studio album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, was written and recorded with Finneas, who is her brother and often works with her. It came out in March 2019 and went straight to Number One on the Billboard 200 chart on April 13, 2019.

Billie is an American singer-songwriter, and Birds of a Feather is clearly one of her top songs. It was released on July 2, 2024, to contemporary hit radio in the U.S. as the second single from her third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft. The song is all about deep love and wanting to be connected for a long time.

    Wrapping Up

The song Birds of a Feather by Billie Eilish has been a huge hit all over the world, topping the charts on Spotify Global, Apple Music Global, and the Billboard Global charts. For 16 days, it was the most-streamed song on Spotify Global. On August 12, the song notched nearly 9 million streams. The song also went straight to the top of the European iTunes chart and stayed there for five straight days on the Worldwide iTunes chart.
