Atlanta Braves Starting Pitcher Charlie Morton had a historic night Tuesday on the road against the San Francisco Giants. With a strikeout of Mike Yastrzemski in the bottom of the sixth inning, Morton became the seventh active pitcher in Major League Baseball with 2,000 or more strikeouts. He joins a list consisting of Max Scherzer, Justin Verlander, Clayton Kershaw, Chris Sale, Gerrit Cole, and Lance Lynn.

Morton turned in a solid start last night surrendering two earned runs over six innings of work and tying his season-high with eight strikeouts. He walked away with a no decision in the game as the Atlanta Braves won 5-4 in 10 innings. Morton is 6-7 this season with a 4.40 ERA.
