Atlas Fallen: Reign of Sand Brings Massive Updates
2024-08-15
Atlas Fallen is an Action RPG that was released on August 10, 2023. It was met with mixed reviews with players expecting more from the developers of The Surge and The Surge 2. Now over a year later on August 6, 2024, a new massive update namely Reign of Sand was released which revamps the entire game. It brought some amazing new features bringing a ton of new improvements. This article will go over exactly what this update brought.
New Intro
Atlas Fallen completely revamped the intro mission of the game. They replaced it with a much shorter mission that introduces players to the story way better than the previous one. It also allows the players to get into the amazing open world much early on which is the best part of the game. They removed the tedious chore of going back and forth between random NPCs and allowed the player to obtain The Gauntlet much faster. It is the main combat tool in the game and this allowed the player to get into action quicker.
New Open-World Activity
There is a brand-new open-world activity in Atlas Fallen: Reign of Sand called Corruption Breach. It is a new horde mode-type activity that players can stumble upon while exploring the open world. It features a set of waves in which enemies spawn which compliments the gameplay of the game well. Each Corruption Breach comes with its own set of modifiers making each run of the activity feel fresh. This activity also incentivizes the player by awarding new abilities and cosmetics.
New Area & Enemies
A new explorable region has been added to Atlas Fallen with the launch of Reign of Sand. Players can access this region by interacting with portals scattered throughout the world. Once inside the region, players will play the character Nyall. He will come with brand-new abilities and inside the region, players will face exciting challenges, missions, and fights. This region also introduced new enemies to the game even including humanoid enemies which is a fresh change of pace. There is also a new debuff that lowers the health of the player for a specific duration. Along with that, new enemies were also added to the base game.
Other Changes
Atlas Fallen: Reign of Sand also brings a ton of new changes to the New Game Plus system. There are three new armor sets that players can obtain in New Game as well as a brand-new enemy exclusive to it. This enemy exists to buff other enemies with the new affliction status, making their elimination a top priority. The enemy density has also been increased making exploration way more challenging as compared to the base game. There are also a ton of new abilities. 25 new Essence Stones are added with Reign of Sand adding more to the ability options as well as buildcrafting options.
