Fernandes takes the penalty, corner, and free kicks for United. He averaged 6.44 crosses and 54.12 passes per game in the Premier League last season. Hitting those numbers against Fulham as captain would net you 6.3 fantasy points, which is an excellent start before any other potential returns.

With the injury to forward Rasmus Højlund, Fernandes player further forward in the Community Shield, having a fantastic goal ruled out for offside and supplying the assist for the goal. Fernandes is the clear captain choice for your teams.

Best Manchester United vs. Fulham Picks

Another player in form for Manchester United, Alejandro Garnacho, scored the equalizer in the Community Shield last Saturday. He had a fantasy point average of 10.7 during the 2023/24 season, playing in 36 games. Garnacho had 16.6 points in the 2-1 loss to Fulham at Old Trafford last season without a goal or an assist. You could captain him and play Fernandes in a flex spot to save you $1,500 to use elsewhere.

André Onana– GK ($6,400 DK)

Manchester United only kept nine clean sheets last season, and André Onana hasn't been the most trustworthy Premier League goalkeeper. However, without the chance of a clean sheet bonus, Manchester United has a 60% win percentage for this game, so the hope is he will grab the win bonus you get for a goalkeeper.

He saved 74.9% of shots he faced last season, so his fantasy point return wasn't too bad for a team that conceded 58 goals. Adding a clean sheet would be the icing on the cake.

If he stays fit, Fulham's new record signing, Emile Smith Rowe, can be a fantasy point generator. He only averaged around 7.3 fantasy points in his three starts for Arsenal last season. However, in the 2021/22 season, he played 34 games (starting 22), finishing with ten goals and two assists. Smith Rowe has scored in both Fulham friendlies and started in the final one, so he is expected to start in today's match.

Antonee Robinson– D ($5,200 DK)

Antonee Robinson was one of the first names on the Fulham team sheet last season, starting 37 games, missing one through injury. He averaged 8.9 fantasy points last season, with The Cottagers keeping ten clean sheets. Robinson is a good defender, but his attacking abilities are where he picks up his fantasy points. Last season, he had six assists and has already linked up nicely with Smith Rowe in the preseason.

Player to Avoid for Manchester United vs. Fulham

Timothy Castagne– D ($4,400 DK)

The main reason for avoiding Timothy Castagne is that he will likely not start for Fulham against Manchester United. He started 28 of the 34 games he appeared in last season, averaging just 5.5 fantasy points. Despite starting the penultimate preseason game against Sevilla, Tete started the final one against Hoffenheim. If he does start, Fulham is more of an attacking threat down the left, so Robinson would be a much better play if you want a Fulham defender.
