PSG Opens New Ligue 1 Season With a Win, Courtesy of 3 Late Goals

The game started well for PSG, who made a very strong statement right from the beginning. Just three minutes into the game, Goncalo Ramos found Lee Kang in to open his and the season’s account. The left foot of Lee was supreme in this finish, giving PSG an early 1-0 lead and promising much more in the offing. Ramos soon picked up an injury that forced him to retire and have Randal Kolo Muani replace him. His first contribution almost was a goal, rattling the crossbar, but fate had other plans.

Tense Match: PSG Struggles

Le Havre wasn’t ready to watch PSG take all the fun, and they completed a ringing start to the second half with Gautier Lloris leveling in the 48th minute. They then seemed to have turned the momentum of the match to their advantage but luck wasn’t smiling on them. What looked like an opener for Josue Casimir was ruled out by VAR because of handball in the build-up.

Ousmane Dembele made a dramatic impact, heading home a goal in the 85th minute. Instantly, the atmosphere changed in the stadium as the fans of PSG erupted into cheer. Two minutes later, Bradley Barcola added to the scoresheet with a dazzling solo effort, cutting inside from the right flank to stretch the lead to 3-1.

But PSG wasn’t done yet. Randal Kolo Muani sealed the win with a penalty, making up for much of that frustration. Brought down in the box by Lloris, he calmly converted from the spot, finishing off the 4-1 rout. For the statistics, PSG dominated the latter part of the game.
