New Conga Armor Potentially Revealed For Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter fans are going wild after the release of the Dual Blade overview video for Monster Hunter Wilds. While the video shows off what's new about the weapon, the main focus for some is the armor. For weeks, people expected it to be Conga armor. It appears that those particular fans may be right. The likelihood of the armor being from a band of pink Fanged Beasts is quite high, and here's exactly why.

Getting Into the Potential Conga Armor's Details

Those who have played the older generations of Monster Hunter games might have a clear image of the old kinds of Conga armor. It's mainly bright pink and red in color with fur outlining the body plates. The armor also features some leather fringe, giving it a rustic and cowboy-like look to it. This is the same for both the male and female armor sets. What's also featured is a bit of horn-like fur sticking out of the helmets. The hair resembles that of a Congalala, which rocks that style to show the rest of the Conga that it's the boss.

These same features are seen in the armor used in the Dual Blades video. Although the leather is darker in color and extra details have been added, the spirit of the Conga armor shines through. Thick pink and green fur lines the armor plates. Looking at the male version specifically, the same horn-like hairstyle is seen.

Meanwhile, the female armor has a long hairstyle that resembles locs. Both armor sets have a detail on the arms that looks almost exactly like the mouth of a Congalala. All these details rightfully make fans of the game series believe this is an updated and more detailed version of the iconic Conga armor.

What This Means for Congalala

If the armor set seen in the video is indeed Conga armor, it spells good news for Congalala fans. Some of the materials the monster drops are required to make the armor. This means if players encounter the smaller version of the monster, a band of Conga, the big and bad leader will make an appearance too. This means that Congalala could be the second confirmed returning monster to Monster Hunter Wilds. The first confirmed returning monster was Rathalos.

However, there is still a chance that this is not the case. There have been cases, specifically in Monster Hunter Rise, where juvenile versions of large monsters made an appearance without the adult form available to be battled against. Zamite and Uroktor appeared without Zamtrios and Agnaktor. If the armor from the video is indeed Conga armor, this would mean that the crafting would not include materials from the Pink Fured Beast.

Conclusion

While Capcom has not specifically confirmed that it is Conga armor in that video, most fans of Monster Hunter and Congalala believe it is. The similarities between this armor set and Conga armor of the past cannot be ignored. However, some future players don't believe this armor is made from Conga and Congalala.

Some hope it isn't. While the pink and fluffy monsters are loved by many, some players find the monster to be annoying to fight. It's a fair argument since Congalala does use its digestive tract to its full advantage during a fight. This leads to not-so-nice-smelling scenarios.

Whether Congalala will make a return in Monster Hunter Wilds or not, the game is still set to be spectacular. Fans will be getting a new look at it on August 20 during Opening Night Live at Gamescom. Perhaps the Pink Fured Beast will make its grand reappearance in the upcoming trailer.
