All About Abiotic Factor's Exciting Crush Depth Expansion

Finally, the first major update for the Half-Life-inspired survival game Abiotic Factor is here! The Crush Depth Expansion is here to add even more spice to the game including new weapons, enemies, and armor! They've even added new areas to explore, a new temperature system, and fishing! Let's get into it!

Beyond the Labs and A Temperature System

Better bundle up and get ready to explore the three new locations in Abiotic Factor! The Crush Depth Expansion brings players a new facility and 2 new sectors to explore. The Voussoir Facility is a new snowy world that utilizes the new temperature system by ensuring players wear appropriate clothing to stay warm! I hope you're not scared of the dark because the new Security Sector will have you journey through the deep darkness. The third new location is the watery Hydroplant Sector which brings diving and fishing to the game!

Fishing and Diving

Let's talk a little more about the new Hydroplant Sector and the new mechanics it brings Abiotic Factor! One of the biggest features we got from the expansion is fishing. Players can put together a makeshift fishing rod and catch some fish! While you're leveling up your Fishing skills, you'll unlock new fish-related recipes and level up your general skills as you go! Several new spots have been added to the game where you can fish and swim!

Get your scuba suit on because along with the new Hydroplant Sector, we'll have to dive deeper into Abiotic Factor than ever before! Get ready to explore the depths with the new swimming navigation system. I don't want to spoil too much from the expansion, but just make sure you're prepared for the dangers that lie beneath the water. The best part is that you can use everything you gather with the new Chef's Counter to craft up some delicious food!

Along with the new locations, some new weapons and vehicles will help you protect yourself from new enemies that you'll be faced with on land and in the depths!

New Weapons, Enemies, Armor, and More!

Everybody loves lasers, right? Well, get ready for the new way you can protect yourself and your base! The new Laser technology is extremely versatile giving you the option of crafting yourself a wannabe lightsaber or a powerful defense system for your base! If there are just too many enemies in the way and you don't feel like fighting just jump into the SUV! Yes, the SUV is now drivable with each location ready to accommodate the bigger vehicle! As much as I enjoyed driving the forklift, the SUV seems like a much better option to run over your co-op partner- I mean enemies.

Is that a bird? No, it's a plane! No, it's a scientist wearing a jetpack! That's right folks! If the SUV isn't your vibe, we also have a new Jetpack that can help you fly around the lab too! Fly over the new dangerous enemies like the ramped-up military sector, zombies, or the new illusive enemy found in the Security Sector- Reaper. Speaking of the Jetpack, there are many new craftables you can make now including a moisture teleporter that takes moisture from the air and puts it into the nearest water bucket! No more worrying about where you'll get your next drink from!

A Look Ahead

There's a lot of good content that's come with this expansion, and players are so excited to see what more is to come! On the Abiotic Factor website, we're already seeing hints of another update coming in the future that includes another new facility and a new sector with the caption "The chilling final chapter." Deep Field Games and Playstack have also issued a disclaimer that the living roadmap is subject to change depending on the response from the community and development priorities. Regardless, there's still more to come for this exciting survival game that I really recommend checking out if you haven't yet!
