Destiny 2: Act 3 of Echoes Brings Massive Updates

Destiny 2 The Final Shape introduced an Episode content model, releasing three Episodes per year, each comprising three Acts. The first Episode is called Echoes and is currently in its Act 2. Act 3 of Echoes will be launching on August 27, 2024, and is bringing a ton of new updates along with it. In a recent, “This Week in Destiny” article Bungie teased all the changes that will be coming to the Act 3 of Echoes. This article will review all the confirmed changes and some leaks regarding Act 3.

New Artifact Perks

Artifact perks are mods that are exclusive to a specific Episode and players can activate a certain amount of them at a time. These remain active at all times and provide players with in-game bonuses. Each Act after 1, brings 5 new Artifact perks and Act 3 of Echoes comes with the following:

• Overload Auto Rifle: Every Auto-Rifle in the game will get intrinsic Overload rounds. This means this archetype will be able to stun Overload champions.
• Authorized Mod – Charged Up: This perk significantly discounts the energy cost of the Charged Up mod.
• Sustained Fire: This perk provides players with damage resistance when they damage enemy combatants with Auto Rifles.
• Targeting Autoloader: This perk provides players with extra damage as well as reloads weapons from reserves when players defeat combatants while having an Auto Rifle equipped.
• Shock and Awe: Arc final blows when a player is Amplified and calls down a burst of lightning that jolts nearby target. This mod only works when you have a Prismatic or Arc subclass equipped.

New Weapons

Three new weapons are being added to the game. Two belong to the Episode: Echoes weapon sets having the Origin Trait called Radiolaria Transposer and one belongs to the returning weapons from Season of the Dawn. These weapons are:

• Speleologist: A Rapid-Fire Frame Machine Gun that has Solar affinity.
• Chronophage: An Adaptive Frame Trace Rifle that has Void affinity.
• Martyr’s Retribution: A returning Wave-Frame Grenade Launcher that has Solar affinity.

New Exotic Mission & Weapon

It has only been confirmed previously by Bungie, that Act 3 of Echoes will launch with a brand-new Exotic Mission that is expected to be the biggest and most ambitious that Destiny 2 has ever released. There has been no further information about what the Exotic mission will be like and what will be its setting. However, it is safe to assume, that the Exotic mission will take place in the core of Nessus. Since the story of Act 2 ended there.

Since it is an Exotic mission, it will be released with a brand-new Exotic weapon. This has been leaked for a while now and apparently, it is the first of its kind, a Special Ammo Auto Rifle. This Special Ammo-consuming Auto-Rifle will have Void affinity and will shoot projectiles that are similar to the Wyvern enemy class. It makes sense considering that all the new Artifact Perk options are focused on Auto Rifle in the third Act of Echoes.
