As fantasy football leagues are getting ready to draft before the start of the NFL season or have already done a draft, there are plenty of strategies to draft players. Every team league owner has their way of drafting in a certain order but there are always players that are “sleepers”. Here is a list of the top four wide receivers that are sleepers to draft.

    1. Joshua Palmer, (LAC)

Palmer is basically the only wide receiver left in Los Angeles after the Chargers traded Keenan Allen and Mike Williams this off-season to different teams. Josh Palmer coming into this season could see being leading the team in 1st or 2nd in targets and catches. In 2023, Palmer had 61 targets, 38 receptions, 581 yards and two touchdowns. This year he is expected to double these numbers. He is projected to have 100 targets, 64 receptions, 870 yards, and four touchdowns. Palmer is coming into this year’s fantasy draft as a sneaky sleeper.

    2. Romeo Doubs, (GB)

Doubs is ranked WR52 in fantasy this year in all leagues. Doubs finds himself at the wide receiver number three position in Green Bay. Green Bay has a lot of options for Jordan Love this season with Christian Watson, Luke Musgrave, Jayden Reed, and new addition Josh Jacobs. In 2023, Doubs had 96 targets, 59 receptions, 674 yards and eight touchdowns. For the upcoming season, Doubs is projected to have 87 targets, 56 receptions, 742 yards, and eight touchdowns. He is considered the number four fantasy WR in most leagues and is worth drafting in late rounds.

    3. Brandin Cooks, (DAL)

Cooks was the number two wide receiver in Dallas last year but the role wasn’t that big of a deal. But despite being under CeeDee Lamb, Cooks did ok. He had 81 targets, 54 receptions, 657 yards, and eight touchdowns in 2023. Cooks is projected to have 90 targets, 60 receptions, 724 yards, and seven touchdowns this season. But if does not produce do not hesitate to drop him.

    4. Khalil Shakir, (BUF)

Shakir is a worthy pick-up in the 10th round in full PPR redraft leagues. With Buffalo trading Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, this is a big opportunity for Shakir to stand out this season. Shakir averaged 13.6 yards per target last year but only saw 45 targets. He finished the 2023 season with 39 targets, 611 yards and two touchdowns. Shakir is projected to have 71 targets, 59 receptions, 839 yards and five touchdowns this season.

    Final Thoughts

There are plenty of wide receivers in this year’s draft for every team. Even if these particular wide receivers are not the number one receiver they are still worthy of drafting in the later rounds of the raft for a solid bench to have plenty of room to mix and match players for each week.
