Champions Inter Gets First Win of the Season at San Siro

In the sparkling form of tenacity and talent, Inter Milan finally won their first victory this season in the Serie A, taking the monumental San Siro with two goals to nil against the lackluster Lecce team. Christian Pulisic leveled for Milan in the 66th minute, but Parma would go on to grab a winner in the 77th minute through Matteo Cancellieri to seal this surprise defeat that leaves Milan struggling in 16th place with only 1 point from their first two games.

Parma’s Great Debut

Parma, newly promoted to Serie A from Serie B, merely relished the victory and marked the regain of Italian top-flight performances this season as they exuded a lot of confidence in their display. Their win, pushing their tally to four points, sees them temporarily lead the table. Their performance underlines their readiness at the top level and gives their coach, Fabio Pecchia, who was celebrating his 51st birthday on the day of the win, a reason to smile.

It was a disappointment and a setback for Milan. After a pretty good pre-season, their defensive frailties were once again exposed. Coach Paulo Fonseca admitted the problems, pointing out issues in both the defense and aggression. Their struggles have left fans and analysts doubting their chances of mounting a serious challenge this season.
