Black Myth: Wukong – Treasure Hunter Questline

Black Myth: Wukong is a brand-new Action RPG rooted in Chinese mythology. It was released on 20 August 2024 and is based on the classical Chinese Novel “Journey to the West”. It follows the story of Sun Wukong as he travels this linear open world and fights some magnificent bosses. This game features a ton of secrets and questlines to explore and this article will go over how to complete the Treasure Hunter questline.

Starting the Quest

To start the Treasure Hunter quest in Black Myth: Wukong, players must travel to the North Shore of the Bitter Lake Shrine. This area is present in Chapter 3 of the game. Once there travel backward and through the path which has two torches burning on either side. Keep moving and players will come across another gate. After crossing the bridge, players will find another building, and outside the building, there will be some enemies and the Treasure Hunter. Defeat the enemies and go talk to the Treasure Hunter.

Ring of Fire Spell

To progress the questline further in Black Myth: Wukong, players must have the Ring of Fire Spell. Travel to the Forest of Felicity Shrine in the Valley of Ecstasy and make sure to set your spell to Ring of Fire. From the Shrine travel left along the pathway and then drop down to the left onto the ground below. Keep moving some distance and eventually players will find the Treasure Hunter sitting on a log. In front of him, players must use the Ring of Fire Spell and this will activate a cutscene. Talk to the Hunter and exhaust all the dialogue options.

Now travel back to the Forest of Felicity Shrine and from there instead of going completely left travel down the path between the leftmost path and the Shrine. Keep going forward until you reach a pillar and from there turn left. Then players will reach a lake as well as a bridge. Travel to where the lake ends and from there drop down to the right. There will be a log on the left, traverse it. Below players will find another Shrine. Make sure to heal at the Shrine.

Secret Boss

From the shrine, on the left side, there will be a cave. Upon entering the cave, a cutscene will play and players will come face to face with the Treasure Hunter. He is the secret boss in Black Myth: Wukong and will be titled the “Green-Caped Martialist”. After defeating the boss, the questline will be complete and players will be rewarded with a “Spell Binder” Spell. This Spell allows the binding of Spells, Vessels, and Transformations to enhance attacks.
