Emma Raducanu Names Her Favorite and it’s Not Novak Djokovic

Recently, Emma Raducanu has given her views on two of the biggest tennis legends. While she refers to Novak Djokovic to be the greatest player of all time, also known as GOAT, she says he is not her favorite to watch. Her favorite, she says, is Roger Federer.

Once more, the preference for Federer also points to her admiration for the way Federer conducts his game and career. In a conversation with Sky Sports Editions, Emma Raducanu was forthright in stating her feelings on who she believes is the greatest of all time in tennis. For pure, repeatable quality, Novak Djokovic is the tennis GOAT, as she says. She has often spoken of her admiration for Djokovic’s continuing high level of performance and exciting wins, something that she feels makes the Serb the sport’s ultimate player.

Despite her great admiration for Djokovic, her personal favorite to watch is Roger Federer. While talking about the Swiss, she stated, “He embodies everything that I like: grace, class, elegance, and timelessness.” Indeed, the style of play and the way Federer approaches the game have won many fans, including Raducanu, who particularly enjoys watching him play.

When it comes to tennis venues, Emma Raducanu certainly has a favorite. At the top of her list was Wimbledon’s All-England Club. She added, “The best venue to play at, in my opinion, is Wimbledon. For her, Wimbledon embodies the pinnacle of tennis tradition.

The US Open: A Special Place

If Wimbledon is a special place for Raducanu, she says the US Open remains dear to her. Understandably, this is the tournament stage where she won her first-ever Grand Slam in 2021. “The US Open is my favorite major because I have such special memories from that place,” Emma Raducanu explained. She prefers the hard courts at Flushing Meadows. Moreover, she is ready to begin her US Open 2024 campaign on Day One with a clash against Sofia Kenin. Reflecting on the last few weeks, Raducanu said she has felt free and expressive on the court.

The sparkling talent of tennis now feels she’s got her spark back. “There’s been a lot of passion, and I’ve been feisty,: Emma Raducanu said. That fire-in-the-belly feeling of competitiveness, if her recent matches are anything to go by, is well and truly back, and she hopes it continues into the US Open.
