Nicole Eggert, producer of the ABC News Studios docuseries, is living with cancer, but the Baywatch alum seems to be filled with hope as she recovers after completing treatment and waits for more imaging and potentially surgery. It hasn't been an easy journey, but thankfully Eggert has a strong support system that's helping her through it.

Nicole Eggert's First Cancer Update

Late last year, Nicole Eggert disclosed that she had been diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer. Eight months later, the 52-year-old recently discussed her experience with having cancer in an interview with People magazine. She explained how the first sign of the illness was a throbbing pain in her left breast that she nearly dismissed. She compared the pain she felt to menopause.

Still, Eggert proceeded with a self-examination. The moment she felt a lump, the onscreen star phoned her doctor; it took a few weeks to schedule a meeting and her pathology reports came back positive. Eggert seemed ready for chemotherapy and eventually surgery but called her journey "rough."

Despite all this, Eggert said she's been overwhelmed by positive energy thanks to her routine that involves reading inspirational quotes. The star admitted that she's had some downtimes, admitting that there's a fear that never goes away. She fears for her two children, Dilyn and Keegan, especially due to her family history. Her parents both had cancer, then she did, and now she hopes neither of her daughters ever carry the disease.

Eggert On How She's Coping Post Treatment

When attending the premiere of After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun, Nicole Eggert once again discussed her cancer journey with reports from People. When reporters asked about her days after treatment, she said, "I am good. I am in sort of a gray area and I finished my treatment, waiting for more imaging and hopefully maybe surgery."

Eggert admits that knowing surgery is required is still not soothing enough and that post-treatment makes her uneasy. She concludes that staying in the gray area was the hardest part; the treatments convinced her that there was progress and gave her a feeling of positivity. While she's a bit stressed out having to wait now, that waiting has also afforded her some meditation time and visits to her shaman.

How Eggert's Daughters Handled Her Diagnosis

The Baywatch alum has had an easier journey with her daughters’ support. She revealed that Keegan, 13, doesn't treat her differently; if anything, she works tirelessly to keep the TV star lively. Their routines have remained the same, as they do the same things and go to the same places.
