Echoes of Wisdom Trailer Shows off Still World and More

A brand new and rather lengthy trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom has dropped. Less than a month from the game's scheduled release date, Nintendo is giving fans yet another inside look at what to expect. The last full-length trailer showed off the world of Hyrule and this version's inhabitants. This one shows off the Still World, confirms that dungeons exist, and so much more. Here's what we can expect when the game comes out next month.

Echoes of Wisdom Trailer Reveals Key Details

The first key detail for the new Echoes of Wisdom trailer is that the King has been taken by one of the rifts. In most games, Hyrule's king (usually Princess Zelda's father) is absent for various reasons. This time, it's because he gets swallowed up by the rift inside Hyrule Castle. It's very similar to what happens to Link in the original trailer, so both of Hyrule's most iconic males have disappeared. Interestingly enough, this trailer shows Zelda nearby to see the King get taken, but she was also there to see Link go down with Ganondorf in another rift.

    The Still World

With the help of Tri, the mysterious fairy that shows up to help the princess, Zelda heads into these rifts. This new area is called Still World. This is essentially a void where everything that's been swallowed up by a rift lands. People, animals, bits of land, trees, and more are stored here. It floats endlessly in this void, which figures to be a difficult traverse for Zelda. Unfortunately, it's not as simple as going in and bringing the missing people back out. They are petrified within. Eventually, they'll vanish completely.

Each entry point to the Still World, which is virtually all the rifts that show up anywhere in Hyrule, will lead to a different part of this new area. Each one will have its own unique layout and defining features. No two sections of this world will be the same, and they will all require unique methods to survive. They will mirror the overworld with its different biomes and features.

    Dungeons

Dungeons figure to play a big role in Echoes of Wisdom. They were hinted at in the original trailer but never shown off. Those were in the overworld, though. These dungeons are found within the Still World. They function the same way as overworld dungeons, but they're much more dangerous and mysterious since they're in the void. The game is likely going to have a lot of dungeons in both regions.

    Swordfighter

Though Princess Zelda is expected to fight very differently from Link, there is an option to fight just as he would. Zelda will find a "mysterious sword" somewhere in Hyrule. When using this sword, she transforms into Swordfighter Form. This changes her appearance and allows her to attack directly with this sword. It doesn't quite look like the Master Sword, but it could very well be. This form has a limited time and a cooldown, so use it wisely.

    NPCs

The trailer also revealed some of the inhabitants of Hyrule. Classic NPCs seem to be returning. Dampe, who is most known for his graveyard appearances in both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, is back in this game. A Goron NPC, likely one that's been featured in the game before, as well as plenty of other characters went unnamed in the trailer. One that could be this world's version of Tingle appeared to float in as well. Of course, the Great Fairies are back as well.

    Conclusion

Echoes of Wisdom is less than a month away. On September 26, players will finally get their hands on the latest Legend of Zelda title. With all the promotion, it's shaping up to be a fantastic entry to the series. The gameplay looks wonderful and unique, with a vibrant and exciting world to explore. Though Hyrule is far from unfamiliar, Nintendo seems to have found another way to make it unique and interesting.
