Los Angeles Angels Zach Neto With Historic 2024 Season

With a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning yesterday, Los Angeles Angels Shortstop Zach Neto made history. It was his 20th home run of his season which made him the first Angels infielder with a 20/20 season. The franchise was founded in 1961.

Neto is hitting .254 this season with 20 home runs, 66 RBI, and 23 stolen bases. Neto's home run helped the Los Angeles Angels defeat the Detroit Tigers 3-0. This was an important win for Los Angeles as they have been playing poorly as of late. Before Thursday's game, they had dropped seven straight and 15 of their last 19 games. Neto made his debut with the Angels last season and struggled. He has been much better this season and has played in 130 of a possible 136 games. Their offense is paced by Neto who leads the team in many important offensive categories.

The pitching staff of the Los Angeles Angels has also not been good this season. They are 27th in ERA, 27th in strikeouts, and 17th in opposing batting average. Starting Pitcher Tyler Anderson leads the ballclub in wins, ERA, and strikeouts. He is 21st in the league with a a 3.41 ERA.

The Los Angeles Angels host the Seattle Mariners for a three-game series beginning tonight. Los Angeles has struggled this season, but still has the building blocks of a team they hope can compete sooner rather than later. Even when Shohei Ohtani was on the Los Angeles Angels roster, success did not materialize on the diamond.

Los Angeles needs a healthy Mike Trout in 2025 to help the team reach its full potential. The all-time great has not been able to stay healthy over the past five seasons, and the on-field performance of the Los Angeles Angels has suffered because of it.
