‘Dancing With The Stars’ Pro Artem Chigvintsev Arrested For Domestic Violence

Artem Chigvintsev was cuffed and taken from his home on domestic violence grounds against Nicki Garcia. The authorities claimed that they had responded to an emergency call. This came in around 10 am from his home in Yountville, California. Recall that the DWTS alum Chigvintsev and Garcia met on the show. They were first paired in 2017 and the rest has been history. In 2022, they tied the knot after several postponements. However, since then they have created a beautiful family including a son, Matteo.

For the first time on August 29, the 42-year-old was arrested. Artem Chigvintsev was immediately taken to the Napa County Department of Correction. However, Chigvintsev did not spend an entire day in the facility. Around two in the afternoon, the pro dancer was bailed. His bail charge was set at $25,000. Meanwhile, the cops have restricted putting out every detail.

They are yet to say who made the call. Neither has a gender been provided. This doesn’t come as a surprise as it is for protection purposes. There are laws in place to shield the victims of domestic violence. However, Henry Wofford, the public information officer has spoken. He hinted that the victim was possibly wounded. In his words to E! News, “When someone is charged with felony domestic violence, usually this means there is a visible injury or credible eye witness. Our deputies felt comfortable arresting him on felony domestic violence charges.”

Wofford clearly explained that the victim would be protected at all costs. To NBC News, the spokesperson talked about the victim’s confidence in the police. To this end, the exact location has been withheld.

Neither Chigvintsev nor Garcia has talked about the arrest. But it is clear that there is no case—yet. Sources confirmed that the arrest doesn’t come with an automatic charge. However, once a case is filed, the police will review it.
