The ceremony during which Mysterio was inducted into the Hall of Fame happened in Los Angeles, one of the milestones in the wrestler's life. He suggests that while listening to Triple H informing him about the news, he probably felt that the CCO brought him the greatest joy in his life.
Recently Mysterio had an interview with 'Busted Open Radio', where they discussed his journey to the Hall of Fame Ceremony and career highlights. When Mysterio was first contacted about his admission into the WWE Hall of Fame, he didn't believe it and thought that WWE wanted to retire him.
He had a lot of things ahead of him that he wanted to accomplish. So, he told Triple H that he didn't want to retire and that they should give him more time. But 'H' clarified and said that they are offering this honor to him, and he doesn't have to retire. That was the happiest moment of Mysterio's life, as he said:
"When I was offered that position, I thought they were asking for a retirement. I straight up told WWE CCO Triple H, 'I'm not ready to retire.' He goes, 'No, you're not. We don't want you to retire. We just think it's the best place, it being in LA, your backyard.' I was like, 'Wow.' I felt like they gifted me with the biggest gift in the world"
Mysterio has a long history with California as he used to take part in different wrestling matches in California. His hometown Chula Vista is also near Los Angeles where the ceremony took place so, that was the great place for the event to take place according to Triple H.
Future of 'Mysterio' Name
Many people asked about the Future of 'Mysterio' name, and they believe that the 49-year-old Superstar now would be looking forward to retiring soon. Mysterio believes that the age 50 would be perfect for him to retire and that would be his final and last moment in the ring. At that time, he'll say goodbye to his many fans.
"I think what's left is to be able to plan a nice sunset and be able to thank everyone that has followed and supported me throughout the years," Ray Mysterio said. "Give them, when the time is right, a good farewell, not something that happens one time, and then I come back and then do it again."
Even if Ray Mysterio retired, the name Mysterio would still be alive in the WWE, through his son Dominik Mysterio. There is an onscreen rivalry between the father and the son, but we all know that these rivalries are a scripted and in real life Mysterio is very proud of his son and expects him to surpass him and his records someday.
