Rashid is also questionable for the two-match Test series against Zimbabwe, which is slated to take place in December, in addition to three ODIs and as many T20Is. Despite this, Chief Executive of the Afghanistan Cricket Board Naseeb Khan remarked on Friday that he was still holding out hope.

Naseeb Khan, the chief executive of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, said that Rashid Khan's doctors recommended he abstain from long-format cricket, or Test cricket, for a year after his back surgery last year. We are expecting he will be available for the two Test matches against Zimbabwe in December,” Naseeb stated.

According to reports, Rashid Khan was hurt while competing in the Shpageeza Cricket League 2024, which ended recently. Rejecting those reports. ACB declared that an all-rounder is available for the three-match ODI series that will take place in the United Arab Emirates from September 18 to twenty-two. ACB revealed, "We are happy to inform you that Rashid Khan did not sustain any injuries during the Shpageeza tournament and that he finished his matches with success. He is in excellent health and will be available for the forthcoming matchup with South Africa."

In the meantime, the 20-man preliminary team arrived in Delhi for training ahead of the one-off Test match against New Zealand. Rashid has played for Afghanistan in five Test matches, 103 One-Day Internationals, and 93 Twenty20 Internationals. During The Hundred in the UK, he had a hamstring injury. In Greater Noida, the Afghanistan squad is already in training.

According to people close to the Afghanistan cricket team, Rashid Khan has been removed from the country's 20-player roster and is presently receiving rehabilitation at the National Academy in Kabul.
