WWE Bash in Berlin was really exciting to watch because the two best friends were going to face each other in the ring, and no one knew if their friendship was going to remain after a match or not. Before the match, both wrestlers were shown approaching their dressing rooms. Kevin Owens seemed pretty confident while ‘The American Nightmare’ was holding his suit for the Bash in Berlin match. From their faces, it seemed clear that Owens was confident about winning the title for the first time after 2017, and Rhodes was confident in defending the title. But the crowd tonight was crazy, and most of the crowd was cheering for the ‘American Nightmare’, Rhodes.
Kevin Owens Dominating
The bell rang and the match started. Both friends shook hands before starting their Bash in Berlin match. Owens was the one who approached Rhodes first, and while the crows were buzzing and clapping loudly, that made the atmosphere amazing. Owens corners Rhodes against the ropes, and after that backup. But after that, Owens dominated and captured Rhodes with a headlock, which was very difficult to get yourself free from.
Somehow Rhodes frees himself from the headlock and goes for the leg, but that becomes a trap for a second headlock by Owens. Rhodes managed to free himself and launched at Owens, but he was able to tackle it away. Both wrestlers give each other a hard time. After some time, Owens pulled his signature Powerbomb against Rhodes, but he wasn’t able to make it happen against his friend. Wade Barrett mocks Kevin and tells him, “Where is the killer instinct?”
Bash in Berlin Result
Owen gets ready to give Rhodes a stunner and tells him that he asked for this. Rhodes outsmarted him with a cross before he did anything. Owens smashes Rhodes and goes for a cover, 1..2… and Baaam!!! Rhodes kicks out. He gets up and tackles Kevin in another Cross Rhodes and takes him to the ground. Rhodes goes for the cover, and the referee counts 1…2…3… and Rhodes defends his title against his good old friend, Kevin Owens.
After a few minutes, Owens gets up slowly and sits in the corner. His friend Rhodes comes up to him and wants to help him up, but Kevin doesn’t let him do that. Both fighters embrace each other and show respect, but after all, Owens doesn’t seem to be happy with the results. And at last, Owens raises the hand of Rhodes but doesn’t let him raise back his hand, and the crowd claps and chants for them.
Final Thoughts
People thought that both friends would go against each other physically and, most importantly, emotionally. But after the Bash in Berlin match, both wrestlers proved everyone wrong, but still, Owens seems to have something going on in the back of his mind, which might lead to future betrayal.
