It is then topped with more sugar that is either broiled or heated with a small blow torch to melt the sugar topping, making it crunchy. The inside is smooth and silky, making this a popular indulgence worldwide.

    Tiramisu

    A creamy, dreamy dessert from Italy, tiramisu is peak elegance. This treat is made with layers of ladyfinger pastries dipped in coffee (sometimes alcoholic liquors) and a whipped cream mixture of eggs, sugar, and soft mascarpone cheese. The top is dusted with unsweetened cocoa and shavings of dark semi-sweet chocolate. Tiramisu is perfect when paired with an after-dinner cappuccino.
