Babar Azam Falls Short In Critical Moment Against Bangladesh

Pakistan star batsman Babar Azam did not play up to his own standards in the 2nd Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh. The cricket match was held at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Azam scored 31 in the first innings. When it came down to the second innings, Bangladesh’s Nahid Rana had a nasty delivery. It ended Azam’s innings prematurely.

Azam is a consistent, talented batsman who was supposed to hold the innings and take Pakistan into a dominant position. But his innings ended in the 19th over of Pakistan’s second innings. Pakistan were in a commanding position as the match ended. Things got worse for them as Babar was dismissed for 11 runs.

Babar Azam Dismissal

Nahid Rana provided a full, slightly back-of-length delivery which moved away from the stump. Azam got this one wrong again and was out trying to drive it. Shadman Islam gloved it at first slip. The Pakistani batsmen did not last long. Nahid got Babar Azam in an early dismissal. This was important as it reduced Pakistan to a precarious 77-run lead. It put the game in a pressure situation. Although, this was considered the key wicket for Pakistan’s team to survive in 2nd test match.

Bangladesh Looks to Nahid Rana

Rana continued his solid bowling performance and dominance in the Pakistan batting lineup. One highlight was Rana taking three prominent wickets within a short period. Earlier, Rana got rid of Pakistan’s current Test Captain Shan Masood, who could score only 28. Rana also took a stunning wicket from left-handed hitter Saud Shakeel, who came for just two. Rana has been in during decisive innings to strengthen Bangladesh.

Pakistan Struggle, Bangladesh Advantage

Bangladesh has been able to bowl consistently. Pakistan’s lead seems to be vulnerable. The Test match is evenly balanced and both teams are pushing to come out on top. Then again, Bangladesh has capitalized on every opportunity thanks to Rana’s impressive bowling. This makes the rest of the match crucial for both teams.

As it stands, Pakistan will need massive contributions from its lower order to post a decent target. That will keep Bangladesh at bay. Look for this Test’s final moments to be a nail-biting end. Azam is concerned that he is known for his amazing batting performance and batting abilities. But in some past series, Azam is not performing well and seems to be out of form. Pakistan Cricket Team fans are very angry at the team’s current performance from their top batsmen. PCB should take this issue seriously.
