Buffalo Bills vs. Miami Dolphins Preview, Prediction and Odds | September 12th, 2024
10 hours ago
The Buffalo Bills will take on AFC East rival Miami Dolphins on Thursday Night. The last meeting between these two teams was last season as the AFC East was on the line heading into the playoffs. The Bills came away with the victory which led the Dolphins to head to Kansas City where they played the AFC Wild Card Game and lost miserably to the Chiefs.
The Dolphins will look to have a better performance this week against the Bills. The Bills lost key players this offseason in wide receiver Stefon Diggs to Houston and safety Jordan Poyer to the Dolphins. Both teams are 1-0 after the first week heading into week two of the NFL season.

Key Stats
Buffalo Bills
Quarterback Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are coming off a 34-28 road win against the Arizona Cardinals. Allen had 232 passing yards, four total touchdowns (two rushing, two passing), zero interceptions and a QBR of 89.9. He did injure his left hand during the game but Allen states "he's fine" but is still undergoing testing and evaluation.
Rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman was selected with the 33rd pick by the Bills in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Florida State. Coleman made his NFL debut in Week 1 and had four receptions on five targets for 51 yards.
Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins are coming off a 20-17 home win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week One. The Dolphins did live up to expectations and barely sneaked by the Jaguars. The Dolphins will look to have a better start this Thursday night against the Bills.
Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw for 338 yards and a touchdown. His longest pass was for an 80-yard touchdown to Tyreek Hill. Hill had seven receptions on a game-high 12 targets for 130 yards and a touchdown. Running back De'Von Achane carried the ball 10 times for 24 rushing yards and a touchdown while also having seven catches for 76 yards in the passing game.
Prediction
The Dolphins are slightly favored in this matchup against the Bills and it does not seem large enough. The Bills swept the Dolphins last season beating them twice and winning the AFC East. The Dolphins will look to put last year behind and win Thursday. This matchup will be tough for both teams with the Bills' new roster and the Dolphins getting the rust out of them from their slow start last week against the Jaguars. They will look to have a better start against the Bills. I'm going with Miami to come out and end the losing streak against the Bills.
Final Pick
Miami Dolphins ML (-130)
