What We Know About Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Game

For Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, grab your controller, put on your fedora, and strap your whip and pistol to your waste because it's coming out soon. It was announced with a small teaser in 2021, and now we have all the information we are going to get.

Indiana Jones has inspired a lot of successful games, including Uncharted and Tomb Raider. Indy himself has been playable through the Fate of Atlantis, Emperor’s Tomb, Original Adventures, Infernal Machine, and even built his way through Lego block games. This latest game is coming from MachineGames, which has brought us Wolfenstein and collaborated with others like Doom.

Indiana Jones Promises To Be One Of The Best Games Of The Year

It was first suggested that it might be an Xbox exclusive, but it has now been confirmed otherwise. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is coming to Xbox and PC on December 9th, and we have been assured that it will later be released on PlayStation 5 sometime in the spring of next year.

What We Learn From The Trailers

In the first trailer, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle we find Indy in possibly one of the worst situations he has been in yet. He is buried neck-deep in a desert location with a villain taunting him. Although it doesn’t show much it does give hints as to its plot.

As to its timing, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle occurs between the movies Raiders of the Lost Arc and The Last Crusade. Indy learns that a seemingly unimportant artifact has been stolen; he is on the hunt to find out why. Like with everything that seems to follow him, it starts off simply and grows to a global scale. There is one thing that looks to be true to most of Indy’s problems, he and others will be facing off against the Nazis.

Fortunately, during the Xbox Games Showcase, we were given another look into Indian Jones and the Great Circle. It appeared to be more of a movie than a game, but it also gave a few hints to the plot. We learned that Indy would learn that he had to find other artifacts and that there were several locations that he would need to travel to. These locations would form a global circle leading to the game's title. This time, we also saw Indy and his companion in the Himalayas in a battleship.

    What The Gameplay Looks Like

Indy and his feminine investigative reporter, Gina Lombardi, are aboard the ice-covered battleship when Nazis quickly discover them. Indy takes them out only as he can, and Gina also tosses a grenade that shakes things up.

We were later given more gameplay to answer some questions, such as whether or not Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was going to be developed and released as a third-person game. Thankfully, that was cleared up, as it appears to be first-person. In the cutscenes, however, the movie look that started our love for the character is brought out.

In the action of the game, players will get a chance to use their fists against the Nazi's jaws, a frying pan, his whip, and that pistol that puts down the best swordsmen in the world with one blow. There could also be more vehicles, but nothing else has been given at this time. Not only will we have the chance to fight with Indy, but there are shown puzzles that we will have to figure out before it’s too late for Indy, which means the world.

How Can You Get The Game

Preorders are now available for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for Xbox or PC. Although no date has been given for the PlayStation version, it would be safe to assume that it will also be available for preorders before its release date. For Xbox owners and PC users, there are two versions available: the Standard and premium editions.

The Standard Edition comes with the game and the preorder bonus of The Last Crusade cosmetic suit and whip. If you order the Premium Edition, you will get everything in the Standard Edition with three days of early play, a Digital Artbook, a Temple of Doom outfit, and The Order of Giants DLC.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is built to all the franchise's strengths and looks to be one of the best games of the year for fans. There are sure to be fantastic locations, fantastic puzzles, clues to follow, and a race for the prize with the world at stake.
