Trick Williams Rises Victorious in the 'Last Man Standing' Match in NXT

The most recent NXT episode, featuring Trick Williams and Pete Dunne as the main event with much excitement and unexpected interference was on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. This NXT event was aired on the USA Network which is its broadcasting platform. The stories of the main event and the other events that took place arrived at quite an interesting point.

The main event of the evening was scheduled to have Trick Williams against Pete Dunne in the Last Man Standing Match, where Williams opened the gates for new opportunities for himself in the upcoming matches. Also, Axiom and Nathan Frazer faced The Street Profits for defending the NXT Tag Team Titles.

Ups and Downs of Trick Williams and Dunne

The bell rang and without any delay, both of the fighters started to beat each other with full force. Trick Williams tries to hit Dunne with his shoulder but Dunne manages to dodge the move, pushes Williams to the outside, and leaps over the ropes to take down Williams. Dunne nails Williams with a punch and proceeds to drive Williams’ shoulder into the ring steps. Williams manages to counter with a few chops and attempts to hit Dunne with a piledriver on the edge of the ring but Dunne managed to free himself from the destructive move he was going to receive.

Dunne kicks Trick Williams in the face and then in the head causing the referee to begin the count to ten. Williams barely makes it and delivers a pop-up punch to Dunne’s face. He attempts to hit Dunne with another shot but Dunne is aware of the situation and he dodges the move by dragging himself to the side and sends Williams flying to the corner.

Unexpected Comeback of Trick Williams

Dunne then knocks Williams off his feet and grabs a chair preparing to hit Williams with it. Williams sees him, however, and kicks him in the back of his head. A referee begins a ten-count to the ground again but Dunne rises. Williams then throws the Trick Shot and connects it to the face of Dunne and the referee starts another ten countdown.

In the last moments, Dunne takes back control and it seems like Dunne is going to win the match but when he power bombed William and the referee was counting, Williams got back up but the dominance of Dunne wasn’t finished. Dunnee managed to prepare him to send him crashing into the table but Williams successfully dodged it. In the meanwhile, the current NXT Champion, Ethan Page made an unexpected interference to support Dunne but Williams managed to send Ethan crashing into the table and dominated Dunne to win the Title of No.1 Contender for the NXT Championship.

Final Thoughts

Trick Williams might be the upcoming champion of NXT because of the attention he is receiving. He is also appreciated by big stars like CM Punk, which makes it more obvious that he will make his way up into big events like SmackDown, RAW, and other big events in the upcoming years.

But for now, he will be finishing what is already in front of him and try his best to make the story more and more interesting which will make it easier for him to get to higher levels.
