Cassaday was also among the major artists featured during Marvel's revived Star Wars comic series in 2015. In 2018, John Cassaday became Chief Creative Officer for Humanoids while still working on the drawing side of several prominent projects simultaneously. He also worked as a concept artist for the Watchman movie, served as director for an episode of Josh Whedon's Dollhouse television series, and was responsible for several other works. While serving as Humanoids' CCO, Cassaday also continued working on other independent projects, primarily producing covers for various publishers, including a series of impressive, connected covers for the Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters event.
