When fans hear the name Linkin Park, they are transported back to the early 2000s, when the albums Meteora, Hybrid Theory, and Minutes to Midnight were released. Their first three records went seven times platinum in the US alone. The band also accrued 11 number-one hits on the top music billboards.

When Chester Bennington passed away on July 20th, 2017, from suicide, the world stood still. Being extremely distraught without their frontrunner, Linkin Park took a seven-year hiatus from performing.

Fans all over the world grieved over the loss of a magnificent person and talented singer. Chester Bennington was a once-in-a-lifetime creator who could not be replaced. However, while fans feel this way, the band thinks differently. Linkin Park ended their hiatus and brought in a new singer, Emily Armstrong. This was a very controversial choice that came with a lot of drama.

Emily Armstrong is highly speculated to be a part of Scientology; she also has connections and affiliations to the Danny Masterson trial. For those who don't know, Danny Masterson, a famous actor most notably known for That 70’s show, was charged with rape on June 20th, 2023. Masterson will serve 30 years to life for his crimes. Armstrong comes into the picture as an ally to Masterson. Pleading for his character during the trial to lessen the severity of the punishment.

This certainly doesn't help her image as information spreads to fans of the band. Especially if a band lost an iconic lead singer, the replacement needed to be perfect, and Armstrong was far from it. Although Armstrong apologized for mischaracterizing Masterson, she didn't say a word about her Scientology allegations.

Speculators say that it is because of her innate fear of retaliation from the organization. While this remains speculation, fans continue to find connections and issues with the band's new singer.
