After being quiet in Week 1, it was clear that Golston would be back at it against the Saints, including four tackles and a sack. Golston was among the few bright spots of the Cowboys’ defense because otherwise, it hadn’t been up to anything, as New Orleans’s offense was so rampant. One hopes for improved performances during the next weeks and realizes that, even in tough games, some efforts are bright enough to be eyed with hope.

Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott mixed bag game in Week 2. It’s without question he threw for 293 yards and a score but intercepted twice once, not really his fault. He missed a would-be score to CeeDee Lamb when Dallas might have used the momentum to alter the game. In his mistakes, however, it was on his back and leading that Dak’s yardage kept him as one of the top performers from Dallas. His resilience will be key going forward as this team continues.

CeeDee Lamb

CeeDee Lamb again proved why he is one of the best wide receivers on the team by bringing home a 65-yard touchdown catch and 90 total yards as the Cowboy’s offense struggled throughout. Lamb was one of the few bright spots on the field. He could have had more if it were not for the drops. He was great in high-pressure situations, making him something special for the offense.

Jalen Tolbert

With Jake Ferguson out, the slot role was big for Jalen Tolbert, who stepped up significantly in the game. He had a career-high six receptions for 82 yards. Tolbert made an amazing play with a 39-yard reception and was active throughout the game. His contributions were tremendous in showing that he can be a more than reliable target when needed. Pass Prescott missed a few opportunities, but Tolbert’s contributions are notable, and promising for the type of role this offense needs now.

Aubrey’s Kicking Brightens Cowboys

Brandon Aubrey, like last week, had been a bright spot. The placekicker was 4-for-4 on field goals with a long of 52 yards in Week 2. Having played in Week 1, his consistency and ability to make those clutch kicks have been among the few bright spots for the Cowboys. Auburn’s performance puts that into perspective, showing how much value he has to the team, especially when the offense and defense aren’t exactly getting the job done.
