"Venom: The Last Dance" Reveals Knull in 2nd Trailer

Venom: The Last Dance's new villain was seen emerging from the shadows in its latest trailer, setting the stage for an intense battle to test Venom's strength. Hardy debuted as Venom, whose real name is Eddie Brock, in 2015, followed by its sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, in 2018.

He also appeared in a cameo role in the post-credits scene in Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021. Venom is known among hardcore comic-book fans as one of the most potent Spider-Man villains. Now that the final trailer has arrived, the stage is set for audiences to witness Tom Hardy's last outing as the fan-favorite villain-turned-superhero.

Venom: The Last Dance Reveals Terrifying Villain

The final chapter of the Venom saga revealed a first look at live-action Knull in the newest trailer for Venom: The Last Dance. The film will bring out the creator of the symbiotes for Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock and the lethal protector fight against.

Around the 50-second mark in the Venom: The Last Dance trailer, Eddie asks Venom who sent one of the symbiotes after them. Venom replies, saying, "My creator," referring to Knull. The trailer shows this symbiote surrounding a long-haired, mysterious figure who appears to be on a throne. The identity is somewhat hidden, and we only get a quick glimpse of the figure.

The long hair and taloned figure suggest that it's Knull, the creator of the symbiote. Eddie asks for his name, but Venom wraps a tendril around his mouth to prevent him from saying Knull's name. Ryan Stegman created Knull and debuted in the comics in 2018 with Venom #4. The duo's run on the character expanded Knull's mythos, setting him up as the main villain in multiple story arcs.

Knull Actor in Venom: The Last Dance

While the trailer did not confirm who would be playing Knull, Rhys Ifans is in the cast list for Venom: The Last Dance. He looks a lot like the Knull we saw in the trailer. Ifans played Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man, so Ifans is no stranger to comic book films.

Although Ifans is seen in the trailer, it's not as Knull. He appears as a long-haired character, revealing his name to be Martin through the closed captions. He is in the back of a van with Hardy's Brock. Martin tells Eddie, "There comes a time in every man's life where you have to make a sacrifice." As of now, it pretty much remains to be seen who exactly Ifans is playing.

For some more background on Knull, he is a god who created the symbiote after his kingdom was invaded by the Celestials (Introduced in the MCU with The Eternals). He made the first symbiote into a sword and then decapitated a Celestial with said sword. To increase that being's power, Knull used a dark void and plugged himself into a Nexus of a Hive. Seemingly, that sequence was hinted at in the trailer for Venom: The Last Dance.

    Conclusion

Directed and written by Kelly Marcel, Venom: The Last Dance will hit theatres on October 25. The film continues the story of Eddie Brock and his Venom symbiote. It is the third and final film in the Venom trilogy.
