Arjun Tendulkar Gets Big Praise From Sachin On His 25th Birthday

On the occasion of his son Arjun Tendulkar’s 25th birthday, Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar sent a touching letter praising his son’s commitment and zest for life. With a superb first-class performance, Arjun, whose birthday is September 24, just achieved a significant career milestone in cricket. He made a huge advancement in his career when he bowled his best-ever 9/96 while representing Goa in the KSCA Invitational.

Arjun continues to work toward his goal of playing for the Indian national team, although he hasn’t quite succeeded as of yet. Arjun Tendulkar plays for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, the same team that his father, Sachin Tendulkar, spent a significant amount of time on. Arjun is still working to make a significant impression on the group, though. His 2024 season involvement was limited by injuries; he played five matches, taking three wickets and scoring thirteen runs.

Sara Tendulkar, Arjun’s sister, wrote a heartfelt post earlier in the day for the brother, expressing how many years of love and bonding they have enjoyed. Her article reflected the relationship and encouragement that siblings have for one another, and even her brother acknowledged that today was a little more intimate for him.

In his cricket career, Arjun Tendulkar has seen one such trend of lows and highs. There were just two half-centuries in his 258 runs across 11 innings in the Ranji Trophy, giving him an average of 23.45. Additionally, he was able to take nine wickets at a meager average of 44.66 as a bowler, which very much informed everyone how unremarkable the young all-rounder’s season has been.

Arjun Tendulkar recently warmed up for the forthcoming first-class season at the Dr (Capt) K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament, popularly known as the KSCA Invitational, a pre-season meet for state teams. He did this by taking nine wickets in Goa’s innings and defeating hosts Karnataka by 189 runs. Only two well-known players, glover Sharath Srinivas, and Nikin Jose, were in the starting lineup for the KSCA XI; the rest of the players were drawn from its U-19 and U-23 squads.

In two innings, the son of the late Sachin Tendulkar amassed a match total of 9 for 87 in 26.3 overs. Karnataka was dismissed for 103 in 36.5 overs during the first innings, with Arjun Tendulkar taking 5/41 in 13 overs. Abhinav Tejrana (109) scored 100 points, and Manthan Khutkar (69) added 69 to help Goa respond with a solid 413. Arjun took 4 for 46 in 13.3 overs as the KSCA XI were shot out for 121 in 30.4 overs, but they were marginally better in the second innings. At the senior level, Arjun Tendulkar has so far participated in 49 competitive games in three different formats and claimed 68 wickets.
