    Key Stats

    Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers are 3-0 for the first time since the 2020 season. They are coming off beating the Los Angeles Chargers 20-10 last Sunday. In that game, we saw Justin Fields finally get to show off his damage from the air. Fields completed 25 of 32 passes for 245 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

We know how dynamic he is with his legs but if he can continue his growth as a passer, Pittsburgh could be a dangerous team in the AFC. Calvin Austin III had maybe the best game of his career catching four passes for 95 yards, including a 55-yard touchdown catch.

Defensively, the Steelers have been historic. They are allowing less than 10 points per game (8.7), 2nd in rushing yards allowed per game (71.3), 5th in passing yards allowed per game (158.3), and 1st in offensive touchdowns allowed (2). We saw them shut down the NFL's leading rusher, JK Dobbins, allowing only 44 rushing yards on 15 carries.

Saying this defense was locked down in the second half is an understatement. They allowed -5 offensive yards to the Chargers in the second half. If their defense can keep playing lights out, this team will be in every game.

    Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts are coming off beating the Chicago Bears this past Sunday. Second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson continues to show flashes of his talent and growing pains of a young player. He completes a 44-yard pass to Alec Pierce, then three plays later throws an interception in the endzone to take points off the board for the Colts.

He must be better in those spots if Indy has any hope of competing in the AFC South. Jonathan Taylor is coming off an exceptional game. Against the Bears, Taylor recorded 23 carries for 110 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

The Colts defense has been one of the worst in the NFL in terms of stopping the run. They rank 31st allowing 179 rushing yards per game. Without DeForest Buckner, who was placed on IR, it's going to be hard to get stops against a Steelers team that will play a run-first style of offense.

This defense allowed Caleb Williams to have the best game of his career so far, allowing 363 passing yards on 52 attempts. They are ranked in the top 10 (8th) in terms of takeaways per game which is a good sign, however, they need to get teams off the field on 3rd down. The Colts allow a 50% conversion rate on 3rd down.

    Prediction

I am taking the Pittsburgh Steelers to defeat the Indianapolis Colts in this game and cover the spread. Anthony Richardson is too up and down at this point in his career. This Steelers defense has been sensational and I expect it to continue in this game.

Najee Harris will feast against the second-worst rushing defense and Fields will continue to be efficient and limit turnovers. The Pittsburgh Steelers continue their winning ways and cruise to a 4-0 record.

    Final Pick

    Pittsburgh Steelers -1.5 (-115)
