SmackDown Preview: WWE’s Last Stop Before Bad Blood

In tomorrow’s SmackDown episode, the WWE plans to entertain the worldwide professional wrestling audience once again with another action-packed show that will be an appetizer to Bad Blood. WWE is featuring two gimmick matches, one an insane triple-threat ladder match for the tag team championship and a dumpster match to settle a recent grudge. The show will also feature the return of a top-tier superstar.

    Triple Threat Ladder Match

WWE SmackDown will fill the episode with a crazy triple-threat ladder match for the WWE Tag Team Championship. The battle will take place between DIY, The Street Profits, and The Bloodline’s Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. The titles are won by climbing up the ladder and removing the title belts from the carabiner that has them hoisted high above the ring.

The Bloodline can lose the titles easily in this one. Four other men trying to get the same belts significantly reduce their odds of winning. It will be the first difficult test for Tonga and Loa since they have been champions. Since there are no disqualifications, will Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu get involved?

The House that AJ Styles Built

AJ Styles is set to make a dramatic return to SmackDown this week. AJ often says that the blue brand is the “house that AJ Styles built!” A good argument can be made to back up Styles’ claim, as he was a dominant star in many of SmackDown’s pivotal years. What will be in store for his return? What is next for the phenomenal one?

Michin will do battle with Chelsea Green in a dumpster match. The winner is declared by incapacitating their opponent enough to stuff them inside a garbage dumpster and closing the lid, similar to coffin matches that WWE has shown in the past. This one will likely see Piper Niven interfere since there are no disqualifications. Will Michin have to overcome the odds and wrestle two opponents?

    Additional Highlights

Giovanni Vinci: We have not seen this superstar since his embarrassing double losses in quick fashion to Apollo Crews. Will Vinci show up this week and start a program with another superstar?

Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton: WWE has announced that Naomi will be battling Tiffany Stratton on Friday. Tiffy Time has been a rising star and getting screen time with Nia Jax, but can she hang in the ring with Naomi? Naomi is motivated after the loss to Bayley last week and will be bringing her A-game this week against the Money in the Bank briefcase holder. Bayley is still set to take on Jax at Bad Blood.

Kevin Owens and Randy Orton: Things were left heated between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens last week after Cody inadvertently got bumped into the referee during Owen’s match, and that led to KO getting pinned. People have been saying Randy Orton may be stirring dissension between Owens and Rhodes behind the scenes. Randy could be after Cody’s title, and he could be playing the long game to take it.

    Predictions

Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton: This one will surely involve additional interaction by both Nia Jax and Bayley. Perhaps even a Money in the Bank cash-in will be teased on Jax? That would depend on how much Jax gets physical. Expect Naomi to win to make up for her loss to Bayley.

Michin vs. Chelsea Green Dumpster Match: Michin will win this one despite the odds. WWE wants to establish her as the top dominant contender for the women’s division. However, WWE also knows they have a gem in Green.

The Bloodline vs. DIY vs. The Street Profits—Ladder Match WWE Tag Team Championship: It is hard to say what WWE wants to do, but I do not see The Bloodline losing this one due to forthcoming storylines involving Roman Reigns and the upcoming WarGames match. Winners will be Tonga Loa and Tama Tonga. Champions prevail.
