    Week 6 Quarterback DFS Start’Em Sit’Em

Week 6 of the NFL season has officially arrived and the quarterback scene on DFS continues to be a weird one to navigate. This is the continuation of the weekly quarterback DFS series at Total Apex Fantasy.

Week 6 has a great matchup with the surprise Washington Commanders and the Baltimore Ravens as the best game of the week on paper. This week also sees more bye weeks including the defending champion Chiefs and the Struggling Miami Dolphins. Here’s a look at the Starts for Week 6.

Quarterback Must Starts for Week 6

Lamar Jackson ($7,800 Draft Kings, $9,500 Fan Duel)

Lamar Jackson is coming off a huge performance against the Cincinnati Bengals, where he threw for 348 passing yards and 4 touchdowns in the overtime victory for the Ravens. He did have the fumble in overtime that could’ve cost the Ravens the win so that could be a concern.

On both platforms, Jackson is averaging over 26 FPPG with his 9 touchdown passes to only 1 interception. This game with Washington this week is going to be a retread of the Bengals game with both teams scoring over 30.

Jayden Daniels ($7,300 Draft Kings, $8,700 Fan Duel)

Jayden Daniels continues to be a huge positive in Fantasy this season, as he is also averaging over 23 FPPG on both apps. He is likely going to be a lock for the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year at this point especially if he continues to light up NFL scoreboards at a high elite pace. Daniels has had 8 total touchdowns on the season to this point after throwing for a touchdown in Week 5 against Cleveland.

Jalen Hurts ($7,200 Draft Kings, $8,300 Fan Duel)

Yes, Jalen Hurts has had his issues with turnovers so far this season continuing the trend from 2023, but he finally gets AJ Brown back along with the returns of Devonta Smith and Lane Johnson. Reports are that all three of those cornerstone pieces in the Eagles’ offense should return against the woeful Cleveland Browns, who are coming off a blowout loss to Daniels and the Commanders.

Hurts has averaged slightly over 18-19 FPPG on both Draft Kings and FanDuel even with the turnovers. The Eagles are also coming off a bye week to figure some things out after a horrible performance against the Bucs in Week 4. Hurts should have a good day against the Browns.

Quarterback Must Sits for Week 6

On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.

Josh Allen ($7,500 Draft Kings, $9,400 FanDuel)

Josh Allen has been struggling the last couple of weeks fantasy-wise, with the Ravens and Texans. This week, he goes up against the No.1 defense against QBs with the New York Jets. The Jets just fired Robert Saleh as this is being written, so it should be interesting to see what they look like on Monday night.

Their defense is still going to defend the pass well enough to keep Allen in check. Even though Allen hasn’t thrown a pick, expect the Jets to force an interception or two against the former Wyoming Cowboy.

Justin Herbert ($5,500 Draft Kings, $7,200 FanDuel)

Herbert has been okay to start the season, in a run-first Jim Harbaugh scheme. Herbert isn’t required to light up the scoreboard each week, but with the Denver defense playing the way they have been these last three weeks, especially Pat Surtain, continue to avoid Herbert in the DFS scene. Herbert also is still lacking a true leading option at the wide receiver spot to warrant a DFS play for Week 6.

    Locks of Week 6

    Lamar Jackson and Jayden Daniels

Both Daniels and Jackson are going to provide enough points this week in DFS that they both had to be the Locks of the Week for Week 6. This matchup between two of the top offenses right now is going to replicate the Ravens and Bengals game with both offenses going down the field at a high clip.

This might be the closest thing to that Rams and Chiefs Monday Night Game that everyone talks about. Daniels and Jackson are both safe plays this week that will help make you money in the long run.

    Fade of Week 6

Deshaun Watson ($5,100 Draft Kings, $6,600 FanDuel)

Watson may be tempting to play in Week 6 because the Eagles are coming off a game where Baker Mayfield lit them up. With the Eagles coming off a bye week, they have a chance to turn it around on defense. The fact that Watson has been the worst quarterback in football, is clear to avoid playing Watson even as a cheap option.

    Sleeper of Week 6

Kirk Cousins ($6,200 Draft Kings, $7,400 FanDuel)

Kirk Cousins is coming off a 509 passing yards and 4 touchdowns day in a come-from-behind overtime victory against the Buccaneers last Thursday night. Cousins is fifth in passing at the moment with that stellar performance and is playing the Carolina Panthers who just gave up a huge performance to Caleb Williams. Cousins is the Sleeper/Budget option of Week 6 with those factors and the budgets makes sense to play Cousins if you splurge on other positions.

    Conclusion

Jackson and Daniels are the main plays of the week, and Cousins will be sneaky once again, especially against the Panthers. Hurts should bounce back against Cleveland at home with his top two weapons in the passing game back. Those are the main takeaways we should have when looking at the Week 6.
