3 Hardest Echoes of Wisdom Bosses in Dungeons

There are a lot of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom bosses. Each dungeon has both a boss and a miniboss. There are also some secret bosses around Hyrule before players get to the penultimate and final fights in this game. All in all, there's a lot of battling going on for Princess Zelda. Naturally, there is a bit of a difficulty progression in these fights. The first dungeon and its boss are not as hard to fight as the next one. It doesn't always go in order, though, so a few of these Echoes of Wisdom bosses are just challenging.

For the sake of this article, we're going to look primarily at the main dungeon bosses. While Echo Zelda and Null are incredible fights and provide a challenge much harder than most other boss fights in this game, they're not found in dungeons. And to devote two entries of the three to the two final fights is not as much fun and doesn't leave room for a few really memorable battles. Mild spoilers ahead.

Hardest Echoes of Wisdom Bosses

Volvagia

Volvagia is one of the more challenging bosses to fight, and it returns from older games. Nevertheless, this flaming dragon found in the Goron dungeon does not go down without making Princess Zelda work for it. The boss itself isn't that hard, but the arena in which you fight it is. There is lava everywhere and platforms for you to stand on. That makes it difficult to navigate, with potential lost health waiting everywhere.

Plus, Volvagia's hits do a lot of damage, so you have to balance three things: staying out of lava, hitting Volvagia, and moving around almost constantly. It's a lot to ask, but Volvagia is easily one of the most memorable Echoes of Wisdom bosses.

Gohma

Gohma was the final boss we fought before heading to the endgame stages to fight Echo Zelda and Null. The order of a few of them doesn't matter, it just happened to work out that way. Ultimately, Gohma, who is the Faron Dungeon boss, is a tricky one. It was made harder for us due to the complete lack of Swordfighter Energy. Nevertheless, Princess Zelda had to electrify three beacons on Gohma's legs and then attack the eye. We ended up using the Electric Wizzrobe, but it took longer than any other of the Echoes of Wisdom bosses to defeat due to the webs and Baby Gohma it spawns.

Ganondorf

Ganondorf is usually the final boss in a Zelda game, but he was almost right in the middle of this game. That alone should indicate that he was a challenge since he's as powerful as they come and Zelda wasn't quite as powerful as she could be yet. Still, the fight was incredible. Ganon is fast and extremely strong. There is a pattern to his attacks that isn't hard to memorize, but it remains difficult to put into practice. As a side note, it's nice that Ganondorf, while removed from the villain's role this time, was given such a prominent and memorable part in Echoes of Wisdom.

In Conclusion

The fights in any Zelda game are among the most important aspects, and the Echoes of Wisdom bosses understand that. This game, published by Nintendo, which has offices in Washington, knows that people are interested in two things: dungeons and their bosses. If those parts of the game are subpar, it's hard to overcome. Fortunately, that's far from an issue.
