The National League Championship Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets has been heating up with the teams splitting the first two games in Los Angeles in dominating fashion.

This series has been the most-watched Championship Series since 2009, which means people will certainly look for some DFS opportunities. Both teams have shown off of their offense in the first two games of the series so it sets up for some must-watch television as the series shifts to New York. The Los Angeles Dodgers have so much to play for while the Mets feel like the baseball team of destiny in 2024.

Los Angeles Dodgers OF/2B Tommy Edman($6,600 on DraftKings)

The Dodgers utility player is definitely not considered in the same realm as many of his superstar teammates. But Edman has been a major contributor in the playoffs thus far due to him always having guys on base while at the plate. Edman is four for seven in the series with three runs batted in.

This is the best value pick for the game because this isn’t one of the Dodgers’ future Hall of Famers so you can get Edman at a good price. They are usually not great value picks with the Los Angeles Dodgers, but Edman is also low risk because he is a player who doesn’t strike out and puts the ball in play consistently.

New York Mets OF Jesse Winker($5,400 on DraftKings)

One of the bigger stories on the Mets this postseason has been the impact of Jeese Winker. Most people believed his 2021 season was a fluke and while he hasn’t reached that level since, his impact has been made in New York. inker hit a big home run in game three of the division series and he is a reliable left-handed bat against right-handed pitching.

There is the risk that if a lefty comes into the game, manager Carlos Mendoza will pull Winker out of the game but this is some great value at below $6,000. Winker has a hit in both games of this series so far and at the price point that DraftKings has, this is one of the easier starts for this game.

Los Angeles Dodgers C Will Smith($7,400 on DraftKings)

Smith is seen as one of the best catchers in the game of baseball but that has not translated in the playoffs this year. Smith is a mere two for 23 this postseason and it is understandable for DFS players to believe that Smith will start to turn things around.

It feels like if he can get going offensively, the Los Angeles Dodgers will hit a new stratosphere this season especially because manager Dave Roberts keeps Smith in such a prime position in the lineup. But until we see that, it’s a player that is tough to start because DraftKings continues to value him above $7,000 which is just way too high for the production he has delivered this playoffs.

New York Mets OF Starling Marte($6,000 on DraftKings)

The Mets outfielder might be one of the most talented players on this roster but since his injury late in the season, he has not been the same player. Marte was one of the faster players in baseball but since his injury, both his hitting and defense have declined.

Even though Marte had three hits in game two of this series, he only has hits in two of his last six games. This is the type of value that DraftKings will show you to throw you off. Marte is a recognizable name but not a high price point so many players will pick him but he has shown no consistency at the plate in months which means to stay away from him. The Mets are also facing a strikeout pitcher which makes this an even worse matchup for Marte.
