Philadelphia 76ers Lineup Preview For Final Preseason Game

The Sixers will end their preseason against the Orlando Magic on Friday evening. Though it’s preseason, Nick Nurse’s experiment on the Philadelphia 76ers lineup shows progress as the team dominated their last two games. The Sixers are 2-2 in four preseason games. With more injury reports, what should the Philadelphia 76ers lineup be? Also, what should we expect from this team in their last preseason game against the Orlando Magic?

    Philadelphia 76ers Lineup Prediction

Throughout this preseason, the Sixers had a few injury reports ranging from their star players to their rookie. In the Sixers’ last game against the Brooklyn Nets, Jared McCain lost his footing after slamming into a Net defender while driving to the basket in the fourth quarter. As a result, he was diagnosed with a pulmonary contusion and will undergo further examination.

McCain and Paul George made a good impression on the court throughout this preseason. Thus, the predicted lineup for the Philadelphia 76ers includes Tyrese Maxey, Andre Drummond, Caleb Martin, Kelly Oubre Jr., and Ricky Council IV. On the other hand, there is a possibility that Nick Nurse won’t start the Sixers’ main players as he will rest them for the opening game of the regular season.

Thus, if Nurse doesn’t start this first unit, he could go with KJ Martin, Guerschon Yabusele, Ricky Council IV, Jeff Dowtin Jr., and Reggie Jackson. KJ Martin’s performance this preseason has been stellar, especially his performance against the Nets. Yabusele will play five for the team if Andre Drummond doesn’t start. Since McCain isn’t available, Reggie Jackson could share minutes with Eric Gordon and Kyle Lowry. Finally, the player to watch out for in this group is Ricky Council IV.

What To Expect From the Sixers

The Sixers started the preseason with two losses against the Wolves and Celtics. They responded by winning their last two against the Hawks and Nets. The Philadelphia 76ers should win against the Orlando Magic on Friday night to go 3-for-2 in five games.

In the last five meetings of these teams, the Sixers came out on top going 4-1. It should be the same on Friday. Nick Nurse continues to experiment with which rotations work best on the court. Now that the Sixers’ top three performances, Paul George, Jared McCain, and Joel Embiid, are out, this is a chance for Nurse to try out more experiments to find a perfect lineup to team with George and Embiid.

Without a doubt, the Philadelphia 76ers have more team depth with the signing of more veterans. This team depth would make a good impact when the stars are out of the game. Kelly Oubre Jr. is different than last season, according to Nurse, and it has been evident throughout the preseason. The team’s latest vet, Tyrese Maxey, displayed some improvements in his playmaking skill against the Nets. Also, Eric Gordon’s shooting from downtown makes him a starting lineup prospect. A good combination of these players can make the Sixers dominant against the Orlando Magic.
