Dillon Nature Center pond restored and filled
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Recreation Commission is thrilled to announce the upper pond at Dillon Nature Center is now fully restored and filled, thanks to the generous support of local donors and a successful collaboration with Evergy. The pond was dredged this past spring to restore its depth and now reaches a minimum of four feet, with some areas extending as deep as nine feet.
IdeaTek is bringing gigabit fiber internet to Winfield
WINFIELD, Kan. — Super-fast fiber internet service will soon be available to hundreds of Winfield families and businesses, thanks to IdeaTek. The Buhler-based internet company will begin construction in late August. By fall, IdeaTek will begin delivering unlimited and uncapped speeds of up to 2.5 gigabits per second to the city’s first few neighborhoods. IdeaTek's 100-percent fiber investment of nearly $6.5 million will connect over 5,200 homes and businesses to fiber.
Local Talent Needed for Art in the Park
The Midland Theater Foundation is seeking people of all ages who are interested in bringing the arts to downtown Coffeyville. Members of the Midland Theater Board of Directors want to gauge community interest in starting a program where a variety of artists work together to provide outdoor public entertainment. Midland Theater Manager Darrel Harbaugh says the goal is to start developing programming for when the auditorium reopens.
